Hi and welcome to my "About Me" page!

The bare necessities of a happy life are EXPERIANCES and RELATIONSHIPS. Without, life would be empty and boring. We all have one life to live so, "As long as possible live free and uncommitted. It makes but little difference whether you are committed to a farm or the county jail" - Henry David Thoreau.

This does not mean a person has to live as I did out of a Subaru Forester, a camper, a hotel room, or a Suburban. Time is limited and if you are too committed to the wrong things in life, life will pass by without your knowing. My combatant for this is photography. Photography causes me slow down and appreciate the places I am in, with the people I am with, and record it for future reflection and the occasion sharing, which this site is about. Every now and then I get lucky and am in the right place, at the right time, with the right camera settings!

Experiences - There is something to be said for the movie with Jim Carrey called “Yes Man.” In the movie, he is forced to say yes to everything for a year. When doing so, he had lots of incredible (both good and bad) experiences he never would have experienced without saying, “YES.” I have said “Yes” more times than I probably should’ve. I have survived working behind the lines of “the prohibition,” moose running me down, hangovers from hell with hikes ending in airlifts, grizzly bears and rat alarm clocks in the middle of the night, food still unknown, among many others. “Yes” has created many exciting, dangerous, mind morphing, and life changing opportunities I can look back on and think, “Wow, that was awesome!” and with others, “What was I thinking?!”

Relationships – I have a great family, great friends scattered across the globe. I have been fortunate to build relationships with people from all walks of life at all points of their lives, both high and low. “Yes” not only helps with experience, it has helped with relationships. If I would not have said “Yes” to a then stranger buying me a beer (out of his cooler) miles down a dirt road literally in the middle of nowhere, I would not have lived in Jackson Hole for 4 incredible years. That one “yes” caused friendships for life, an education through days spent with some of the smartest people in the world while touring the prettiest place in the world, and emersion with the best photographers on the planet, who are now friends for life. Everyone has a great story to tell, and I haven’t heard it yet, hopefully someday I can hear yours.

“Yes” has cultured me in ways books and schools cannot provide. I hope everyone gets to experience that type of culturing…

These images I hope will inspire you to get out and see the world and break the commitment from life and find your own experience! Remember to say “Yes!”… Within reason…
